For first-time kitchen hardware importers, the two most common questions are “what is the MOQ?” and “how do I fill a container profitably?” This guide covers how experienced buyers structure wholesale orders.

MOQ works per model, not per container

Factories set MOQ per model and finish because each run requires jig setup and a plating batch. The practical approach: hit MOQ on your 3-5 volume sellers, then top up the container with smaller quantities of premium items where the factory allows mixing.

The classic mixed-container structure

A typical first 40ft container for a new market: 50-60% volume sellers (drawer baskets and seasoning pull-out baskets), 20-30% mid-range (304 stainless steel baskets, hanging racks), and 10-20% premium items that build your reputation (magic corners, tall pantry units, lift baskets).

Know your sizes before you order

Baskets follow cabinet carcass widths (600-900mm). Ordering the wrong width split is the most expensive beginner mistake — check demand for each carcass size in your market first, then split quantities accordingly. Standard dimensions are in our pull-out basket size chart.

Packaging drives loading efficiency

Knock-down (flat-pack) baskets load dramatically more units per container than assembled ones, at the cost of assembly at destination. Discuss both options — GST supplies either, with color boxes or bulk packing to your preference.
